About the play:
Every Tuesday Pam goes to Tesco’s with her recently widowed father. She is the dutiful daughter and tries desperately to get dad out of his slump. That’s easier said than done as her father refuses to recognise Pam’s gender and we discover what lies at the roots of their relationship.
Tuesdays at Tesco’s is an exploration of generational divides, trans identity and family. We are looking to bring this production right into 2020 and give space to the one of the most marginalised communities in society.

About the play:
Set in Trellick Tower in the 80’s, in a room Ferghal and Jean regularly meet in. Two people from different generations, share the undecided nature of their identity. Are they British? Or are they Caribbean?
Their conversations battle between succumbing to their bleak reality and the need to transcend it. One must find sanctuary in dreams and delusions, while the other is frightened of the imaginary world and craves for something real. It is a play about loneliness and companionship, despair and hope, alienation and belonging.

“You walk back into this house and… the walls come tumbling down behind you”
It is Mum’s birthday; elder daughter Patricia returns to the house after 5 years of absence since the incident. Patricia hopes to reconcile with her mother who believed she was only ever following the word of God and the teachings of the Nigerian church. However, mum is not ready to answer any questions or let the past back into her life. Younger sister Jemima cherishes the memories built in this house and seeks her own answers from both Patricia and Mum.
House is a play about family, religion, sisterhood, memories and truth.

About the play:
Single Black Female is a two-hander that explores the lives of 2 black women who are middle class in their 30s. They tell us stories of their search for love, introduce the audience to lessons that they learned from family and friends as well as an overarching theme of discussing attitudes towards marriage and black love. The play was originally set in America but we are doing a version set in the UK. I am looking for two black female actresses with the ability to easily switch into different characters naturally within a conversation.

About the play:
Biedermann and the Arsonists is a black comedy about fear and wilful ignorance in the face of disaster. When two strangers invite themselves into Biedermann’s home, he immediately suspects that they’re going to burn it down with him and his family inside. Even when the truth is staring him in the face, he just can’t bring himself to do anything about it.

Sam Steiner’s Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons follows the relationship of new couple, Bernadette and Oliver, at a time when the government has imposed a 140 daily word limit on all citizens. This relationship as a lens through which to explore ideas about censorship, oppression, free speech and the modern day over-saturation of information.
The potency of this piece lies in its ability to charm, humour and entertain audiences whilst simultaneously provoking challenging questions about the relationship between citizen and state. It is particularly pertinent to explore such questions in 2020, a time when the government’s influence over and control of our everyday lives is so glaringly evident.

About the play:
Two disciplines, two opposite perspectives on one puzzling mystery: the nature of consciousness. Helen Reed is a novelist and visiting lecturer in creative writing at Harrogate university, where Professor Ralph Messenger leads the research programme at the cognitive science institute. He studies the content of the mind in order to confer consciousness to robots. She creates fictional characters in the attempt to understand what goes in other people’s minds. At the crossroad between public lecture and secret diary, our two protagonists play an exciting and no-holds-barred chess match.
