Associate Artist/Producer Training Programme (AAPTP) – Call Out

StoneCrabs Theatre is excited to open applications for our Associate Artist/Producer Training Programme (AAPTP). This is a paid, hands-on opportunity for Isle of Wight LGBTQ+ young leaders looking to develop skills in the performing arts and community sector.

What’s on offer?
  • 160 hours of paid training (£12.71 per hour)
  • Flexible structure across June 2026 – March 2027

  • Mentorship from a passionate, experienced team

You’ll work closely with StoneCrabs on our flagship project Out On An Island: Building Bridges, contributing to meaningful LGBTQ+ community projects while building your skills across artistic, producing, and administrative areas.

No two traineeships are the same: you’ll help shape your own journey, while also being encouraged to step outside your comfort zone and try new things.

What will you do?

You’ll gain experience across areas such as:

  • Artistic development (ideas, workshops, storytelling)
  • Event planning & delivery
  • Community engagement & outreach
  • Marketing & communications
  • Production & logistics
  • Evaluation & project development

You’ll also have opportunities to shadow the team, assist with workshops, and collaborate on a final project.

We’re a small, supportive team committed to nurturing the next generation of LGBTQ+ leaders. We offer:

  • Ongoing mentorship and guidance
  • Access to specialist training (e.g. LGBTQ+ history, facilitation, health & safety)
  • Support with DBS and safeguarding training (costs covered)
  • Access to confidential counselling sessions if needed

  • Programme runs: 1 June 2026 – 31 March 2027
  • Application deadline: 26 April 2026
  • Interviews: 5 & 6 May 2026
  • Online Q&A session: Wednesday 15 April, 3pm
