StoneCrabs Theatre is looking for actors and actor-musicians for our ‘Out On An Island’ short film (to be filmed on the Isle of Wight), as well as the research and development of a new play inspired by the Out On An Island project.
We are looking for actors with good improvisation, sightreading and storytelling skills. Candidates must be happy to rehearse online with some presential rehearsals (if permitted). Rehearsals for the short film will be carried out online, with presential filming on the Isle of Wight.
We encourage applications from actors based on the Isle of Wight and nearby areas, especially actors from diverse backgrounds, those who identify as LGBTQ+ and allies.

When: The R&D and short film will take place early/mid December.
Fee: Minimum equity.

Auditions: If selected, we will email you a short text for you to prepare a ‘self-tape’ and/or invite you for an online Zoom audition.
Engagement: 7 hours (R&D & Filming) across 3 sessions that can be decided between director and actor on appointment.

Roles
A1 – playing age mid 20s, identifies as Gay, must play a music instrument.
A2 – playing age mid 30s, identifies as Queer.
B1, – playing age 40s, identifies as a Lesbian.
B2 – playing age 40s or 50s, identifies as Trans.
C – playing age 30s, identifies as Gay.
Narrator 1 – any playing age, identifies as genderfluid.
Narrator 2 – any playing age, identifies as genderfluid, must play a music instrument.
Narrator 3 – playing age late teens/early 20s.
Narrator 4 – playing age 60s/70s.
